Why I Live Where I Do

Coleman County Optimism
Is my rain gauge half-full or half-empty?

By Tonya Roberts
Tonya Roberts reports that Coleman County residents are so delirious with their recent 2 day deluge, that reports of from 3 to 11 inches may be due to other factors. Tonya reminds us that "There's not a lot happening in the country, but there sure is a lot to talk about." - Editor

Tonya's Top Six Reasons Why You're Not Getting an Accurate Reading from Your Rain-Gauge.

1. It's sitting under the downspout from your roof.
2. It's under the porch roof.
3. That ratshot you used to shot the neighbor's dog made a small hole between the 3 and 5 inch mark.
4. The fencepost you nailed it on is leaning toward East Texas. That happens when you pay your fencing crew with alcohol.
5. Your nephew filled the bottom with silly putty.
6. Your brother-in-law filled it with beer on the way out the gate.
