History on a Pinhead

Garden Ridge has no 19th Century history and very little 20th Century history. In 1972 the town was incorporated, becoming the first new town in 127 years.

From the original population of 230, it grew to 647 for the 1980 census and 1,450 for the 1990 count. The 2008 state map shows a population of 1,882.
