History in a Pecan Shell

Pansy was located on Kentucky Land and Cattle Company property. The location doesn’t show on most current maps. Originally called Pansy Mills, the settlement was 12 miles south of the settlement of Mount Blanco and 5 miles east of Crosbyton. H. S. Shives named the town. A post office, with Shrives as postmaster operated briefly from 1894 – 1896. A second Pansy, Texas (also a ghost town) was once in Navarro County.
