The Sewer Commemorative Marker
Fayetteville, Texas

Fayetteville sewage marker

It's a peaceable town where they celebrate the new sewer system

Photo © Hester + Hardaway

A granite marker, the kind that usually commemorate massacres, disasters and birthplaces, here commemorates the laying of the first sewer line in 1923.

The marker also mentions the monument was donated by the Stoltz Monument Company of LaGrange. Mr.L. W. Stoltz, it's interesting to note, introduced the sandblasting method of tombstone engraving to Texas, back in the 1920s. Mr. Stoltz's son is still doing business in LaGrange today.
