WHY BILL GATES
MAY NOT BE WELCOMED IN TEXAS

or Keep your computer chips out of our salsa.

by Raoul Hashimoto
It's a glitch, for which, a man could get lynched.

Our computer recommends:

Bastrop be spelled Bistro
Burnet be spelled Brunet
Cotulla be spelled Cutoff
Eastland be spelled Wasteland
Ennis be spelled Dennis
Erath be spelled Errata
Giddings be spelled Giddiness
Wharton be spelled Whatnot
Sealy be spelled Seamy
and
New Braunfels be spelled Brainless

Floresville's Rancho de las Cabras should be "Rancho de Las Cobras" according to our spell-checker. (Everyone knows that Rancho de las Cobras is a New Dehli petting zoo.)

To Raoul Hashimoto, who is looking for more computer spell check items, I send this:

I type "Both Richland Hills and Hurst, Texas are located in Tarrant County."

Computer replies:
Richland -- Riceland
Hurst -- Huts, Hurts, Hearst, Burst
Tarrant -- Tart, Tarring, Torrent, Tarot
This leads me to type, "No tart of Hearst would dare go out tarring her hut in the Riceland when neither Richland Hills nor Hurst has had a burst of a torrent in Tarrant and they are now consulting the Tarot to find when it won't be so hot that it hurts."

Ms. PJH

Send us your amusing recommended spellings and we'll add them to the list. - Raoul H.
