History on a Pinhead

Wilmeth was named for J. B. Wilmeth, early settler and the community's first teacher in 1848. The Wilmeth school was open from 1905 through 1918, but closed its doors soon after. Its lifeblood gone, Wilmeth soon became a ghost town.
