History on a Pinhead

The community once had its own post office from 1898 to 1921, but prior to that, information is scant. The Handbook of Texas only mentions “twenty-odd farms” in the area. Hickston remains on the detailed TxDoT Gonzales County map.

Mr. Gibson’s photographs show the extent of the community today.
