History
in a Pecan Shell
Also known as Tiger Point, the name was coined by Phillip Haddox Coe who
observed that the male residents “behaved like tigers.”
A post office
is said to have existed prior to the Civil War and the community had many prominent
Washington County personalities living there. But its proximity to Brenham
was a detriment to growth and by 1900 the town was gone. The land became a farm
and its exact location is unknown. Where to
