THROUGH 7 YEAR OLD EYES

by David Knape

She sees her father
through 7 year old eyes
she was only that old
when he was taken
a young man
only 44
who had his whole future
before him
a gentle soul who loved
his family of 4
who worked hard
and lived an exemplary life
he was so kind
he was one of a kind
how does one remember
a dad who went too soon
his memory hard to recall
when so young
he is remembered with tears
by his family
and remembered fondly
by all who knew him
she clings to his memory
little scraps of what she can recall
as seen through the mist of passing time
and 7 year old eyes.
