WORRIED MOON

by David Knape

Motives are so hard to know
I'm looking down and worry so,
that man's desire is nature cursed
that he'll destroy his mother Earth

I used to shine on water pure
and geography that long endured,
yet man is such a predator
how long it lasts I can't be sure

All the while, the wild attacked
slash and burn the method backed,
the forests cleared with no respect
with greed it's what you might expect

It is so sad in many ways
my shine just seems to go to waste,
from distance I am just afraid
that earth has seen its better days.
