Lime Kiln School
1917

Titus County, East Texas
Titus County TX - Lime Kiln School 1917

Lime Kiln School 1917

This photo is from the personal family photo collection of Elizabeth Irene Norrell, daughter of Nuban Houston "Bud" Norrell and Dellar Catherin Bell-Norrel. Irene is my granny and when she gave me this photo, she said this was her first year in school and that she was the 7th person in the third row from the bottom up. She did not name anyone else though.

The school was in the Titus community and that was where she lived at the time. Her grandfather and grandmother were James Polk Bell and Addie Eugenia Sullivan Bell from Cookville, Titus County, Texas.

My granny Page lived in the Dallas area, Lamar County Area, Powderly and Paris just about all her life. She loved to volunteer at the Nursing homes calling Bingo, attended several church events including the quilting bees. She was active in every church that she attended and often sewed for lots of family and friends. I believe she would be tickled to have her school photo shared with others.
