History on a Pinhead
The "town" of Edison was established on the Holdsworth Ranch
near Tortuga Creek. A one-teacher school was built on the ranch around
1906 and nineteen students reportedly attended classes there. The
school was known as the Edison School, Tortuga School, or the West
Loma Vista School.
A post office under the name Edison was opened in 1907 but the town
was abandoned by the mid-1920s. |
