History
in a Pecan Shell
Tejon is Spanish word for raccoon.
It was a town, albeit a small one in the 1930s when the railroad had
a stop there. The Handbook of Texas mentions a school and "several
dwellings" at the site in 1936.
The 1948 county highway map is said to be the last one on which Tejon
appeared. There doesn't appear to be so much as a cemetery at the
site according to recent TxDoT maps. |

Forum:
The area known
as Tejon is a road now known as Alton Gloor road. There is a small
cemetery that is still in use today. The area is commercialized and
many new subdivisions now exist in the area. - Ida.Adeigbe, September
