History in a Pecan Shell

The town has no 19th Century history and there’s no explanation for the name other than it being named after the Danciger Oil and Refining Company in the early 1930s. A post office was opened in 1934. The 1939 population was reported as 150 which has increased over the years to 357 for the 2000 census.
