History on a Pinhead

Known by various names (Starks, Putnam, Hickory) a school was constructed on the Roundtree Ranch in 1906. The school took its name from Prairie Mountain – the local landmark. In the early 1910s, the Roundtree Ranch was broken into smaller parcels increasing the population. An estimated 20 families formed the community.
