| On
New Year's Day 1890, plans were made for a school and church - with
the school being built first and serving both purposes. The church
was begun the following year but a winter storm destroyed the building
before it could be used. The replacement was a Gothic frame church
completed by the spring of 1892, but this too was destroyed (in the
Summer of 1893) by a tornado. The third church structure began in
1897 and lasted until the early 1950s when it was replaced by the
current church building. |
