History in a Pecan Shell

The former community is located one half mile east of the former International-Great Northern Railroad tracks. A date of origin is unknown but in the mid 1930s there still remained a school and two churches which served farmers of the area. The school merged with the Whitehouse ISD in the early 1950s. By the 1970s the town was already well on it’s way to becoming a ghost town with only the New Canaan Church and a cemetery to mark what was left of the community.
