History
on a Pinhead
Born with the railroad and died by the railroad. No one is quite sure of
Saxet’s peak years or if ever had peak years. It developed because of its railroad
spur and its ability to ship cattle and produce but population figures or dates
aren’t available. It did not have a post office although it appears on maps from
the 1920s. Its unique claim to fame is its name. Saxet is Texas spelled backward.
Sacul, Texas is another East
Texas town with a reversed spelling (Lucas). |
