A Writer's Life

A writer's life
is lived with pen
as words arise
inside of him
they multiply
time and again
words represent
the world to him

A writer lives
only to write
to share a moment
of insight
he hopes to see
to set it right
before it passes
into night

Tides of thoughts
come and go
he records them
writely so
what's written lives
lets others know
poetry opens
like a rose

A writer's life
is lonely and
a little different
from most men
in a way
it's all pretend
yet the writer's story
never ends.
