I am the ghost
of Ammannsville I lived here once I live here still
I wander through
the church and hall Wondering what became of all
The folks who
used to be my friends Who loved to sing and dance but then
The
world came knocking on the door and changed our lives forevermore
It was alluring changed our ways Made folks want to move away
It was our time it was our place Too soon it passed too slow the pace
So now I haunt what bits are saved The church, the cross, these hallowed
graves
You feel my touch in evening's breeze You hear me beckon
through the trees
I am the end of what once was My lonely
call is all because
I am the ghost of Ammannsville I loved
this place I love
it still.
