Once
in a blue moon
an image is supplied,
the fullest moon displays
as if it owned the sky
Upon this darkest night
its light can't be contrived,
once in a blue moon
beauty won't be denied
Who were the first to glimpse
when was romance first applied?
did our ancient fathers note
its fair passing in the sky?
Such a moon is much too brief
it can't come again too soon,
how loveliness repeats
only once in a blue moon.
