Texas Cockroach

by David Knape

A touchy subject
not often broached,
is the mean and ugly
Texas Cockroach

Now some may say
it's just a boast,
but they haven't seen
this gross a roach

So large it's lassoed
with a rope,
it can be saddled
well, almost

Be advised
when you're approached,
be wary of this
cunning roach

A revolver may be
your last hope,
to shoot the thing
before it lopes

But if you miss
say Adios,
you will be toast,
to the Texas Cockroach!
