History in a Pecan Shell

The community shares a history with its neighbors of Clegg and Ramirena.

The town had a post office in operation from 1915 to sometime in the mid 30s when the population was reported as a mere 10 people. It rose to 80 by the end of WWII and the school was merged with the George West ISD in 1948. A popular dance hall operated in the town from the 20s through the 50s. Increased mobility after WWII drained population from the town, as it did for hundreds of Texas towns.
