History in a Pecan Shell

In the 1880s a school was built here and a few years later (1890s) a Methodist Church was organized, using the school as a meeting place for the congregation. Religious revivals were held here, drawing people from Live Oak and neighboring Bee County.

Around 1920, the building was moved to Cadiz (Bee County) and Lebanon, which never developed a commercial district or had a post office, soon dissolved. Lebanon had only been included on local maps and it was not included on later ones. The last hint that Lebanon had once been active is in the graveyard of the former church.
