Cedar Hill State Park is situated on the Eastern Shore of Joe Pool Lake and north of the city of Cedar Hill. Nearly 2,000 acres of forested land (including cedars) gives credence to the town's name. Cedar Hill at 800 feet above sea level is the highest elevation in Dallas County.
