History in
a Pecan Shell
The post office at Cedar Hill had only been open four short years
when a tornado blew through town in 1856.

Cedar Hill was
also a feeder trail to the larger Chisolm
Cattle Trail.
An Encore
Bank Robbery
In slightly more resent times, Cedar Park's downtown bank was robbed
by Ray Hamilton, sometime member of the Parker-Barrow
gang. Shortly after the robbery, a reporter learned that some
of the money was retained by the bank due to the efforts of a shrewd
teller who hid the money under his teller's cage window. The story
made the news and since the gang loved reading about themselves,
Ray performed an encore, relieving the teller of all his money (and
probably his new employee-of-the-month badge).
