History in a Pecan Shell

Scrap, Texas disappeared sometime in the 1930s. A post office operated between 1903 and 1924 and the only population figure given in the Handbook of Texas was for 1914 when 25 Scrapers called the place home.

*The TxDoT County Map for Red River County shows a distance of 3.1 miles between the towns of Kiomatia and Kanawha - following FM 410. The exact location of the town would have to be determined by earlier maps.
