History
in a Pecan ShellThe
name of the town comes from the granite shoals on the Colorado River that were
visable before the impoundment of the lake. First developed to be a resort community,
the town incorporated in the 1960s when the population was around 300 residents.
It quadrupled by the 1990 census to 1,378 and by 2000 it was over 2,000. |
