History
on a PinheadFormer
Texas Ranger Felix Grundy Morris hung up his gunbelt and badge and retired here
after the Civil War. The community was granted a post office in 1886 and Morris
served as one of the early postmasters, naming the community after his middle
name.
By the early 1890s Grundyville had a gin, followed by a second shortly
thereafter (1896). The post office closed its doors in 1918 and today only the
ruins of the Grundyville Baptist Church remain to make the former town. |
