History on
a Pinhead
A buffalo hunter named T.J. Scott is credited with founding the town.
In 1881 Scott was a member of Jones' county's first commissioner's
court. Although there's no mention of the town's former name or a
name change, the town is most likely named to honor Spanish-American
War Hero and "The Man Who Saved San Francisco" General
Funston of Kansas. |
