Childress and Vernon Family Photos
Texas
c. 1914

Vintage photos courtesy Margie Foster
Childress Texas 1914 man and woman

Editor's Note: In January of 2006, we received these photos from Margie Foster of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma who asks if anyone in the Childress or Vernon area might know or have a comment on these family photos. Her original letter:

I found numerous old, old photos left by my Grandmother. Nearly all of them have Kramer Studios, Vernon, Texas stamped on the back (can barely read it). Can [anyone] tell me if, by some miracle, if it's still in business or what may have happened to it?

I'm just going to jump in here and send some photos, the first two are of my paternal Grandmother, Sarah Frances Sallee (aka Frankie). (My Grandfather was Felix Emmett Goodson (aka Em).)

These pics have to be in the '20s or earlier. My Grandmother was born in 1896. (Frankie). These are about the best of what I have, they haven't been taken care of, obviously, and I'm trying to get them organized and in albums.

I think my Grandmother was living in Childress at the time of these photos, and this would be around 1914. I know the photo [of the baby] is torn, but it's old. The baby is my Grandmother's niece, now 83.

Thank you. - Margie Foster, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
