Subject: Schools in Jonesboro Texas
Need to correct a bit of mis statement in you article. The 1928-1975 school building and gym no longer exist. It is NOT the current Methodist church as it appears in your article. To reach the site of the old school you turn south at the Methodist church and proceed 100-150 yards. The only building I am aware still there was the FFA/VoAg building, a metal shop on the right. Last house on the right is where the old Gym stood. Near the road you can see a few remnants of a rock retaining wall.

Bob Johnson, 67 graduate from the old school.

Thank you for your site, have learned much from it. - Bob Johnson , February 23, 2020

Subject: Jonesboro Schools
The Jonesboro School was built in 1974 and opened in 1975. We have checked the records at the school and other places [and have found that] there were two other schools before this one.

The original school was built in 1869 and served until 1928. The 1928 school served the community untill 1975 when the current one opened. The former school is now the current Methodist Church. Thank You - Rhonda Reid Technology Director Jonesboro ISD, February 11, 2004
