History on a Pinhead

Named to honor early settler John W. Westbrook, the town was set up on a stream running off of Morgan Creek. Westbrook was platted in 1906 and in just a few years could boast of a population of 600. Westbrook had most essential businesses including a bank and post office.

After WWII the population dropped to 400 and it slowly declined to 300 by the 1980 census. In 1990 the population was 237. The 2010 census reported 259 residents.
