History

to honor early settler John W. Westbrook, the town was set up on a stream running
off of Morgan Creek. Westbrook was platted in 1906 and in just a few years could
boast of a population of 600. Westbrook had most essential businesses including
a bank and post office.
After WWII
the population dropped to 400 and it slowly declined to 300 by the 1980 census.
In 1990 the population was 237. The 2000 census reported 203 residents.A
