History on a Pinhead
The
town of Angeles received a post office in 1910 which was later moved to Orla
although no date is available.
Nothing remains of the town except the
sun-baked antique sign (above) photographed by Barclay
Gibson in February of 2009.
Photographer's Note:
Angeles was in the northwest corner of Reeves County, 43 miles NW of Pecos
and 6 miles NW of Orla on US 285. My map shows the
town to be on the east side of the road by the railroad, since removed. The only
remnant of the town now is the sign on the west side of the road. - Barclay
