"I made my grandfather's last trip on the Sunbeam June 1954. I retired third generation conductor August 2008. The depot at Bremond Texas was located between the main and Siding. The siding today has never been straightened out to be parallel to the main track. The sunbeam 13 and 14 would leave depots at Houston and Dallas at the same time. Sunbeam 13 would take siding to meet Sunbeam 14 at Bremond.

These are the pictures taken by my Uncle (son of my Grandfather) of the actual meet at Bremond June 1954. I retired 2008, I worked train thru Bremond to Hearne, the siding remains the same as then, but the Depot is gone. One of these pictures you can see the branch track coming off the siding that went to Marlin to Waco. My mother told me that when she was a little girl, the family trip to Morgan started out on the Sunbeam at Ennis, the family would stay at Bremond depot 8 hours lay over waiting for the mix (a freight train with two passenger cars on the rear end of train). Then to Waco to change trains to go to Morgan. It was an all day trip to see relatives. My mother lived to 94, passed in 2009. I took her for her last time to see Morgan just before she passed. It took about one hour and 35 mins to drive there from Ennis, but when mother was little, roads were not good and my grandfather used his railroad pass to take the family places." - Dane Williams
