History on a Pinhead

Graves in the Prairie Grove cemetery date the settlement to the late 1880s when it was an African-American farming community.

A local school was partially funded by a Rosenwald school grant but was abandoned after desegregation. The four-room, wooden building was still standing as late as the 1980s.
