History in a Pecan Shell

Garciasville was a supply point for Spanish-speaking ranchers in the late 1800s. The town reached a population of 50 in 1950.

The post office of Garcias was established in 1897 and operated until 1918. In 1923 it reopened. In 1929 it changed its name to Garciasville.

Today a few business operate, but most business is conducted in McAllen or Rio Grande City.
